Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: Who Was the First Female Actor? Margaret Hughes may have been the first professional actress in England. The occasion of her first performance was on 8 December 1660, in a production of Shakespeare's play Othello, when she played the role of Desdemona in a production by Thomas Killigrew's new King's Company at their Vere Street theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hughes

Introducing......Sam and Rikki!

Well, here they are at last! The Guinea pigs. The boys had picked out boy names (Sam and Ricky) but Petsmart only sales girls. So.........

Here is Tim holding Samantha. She is an Afghan long haired guinea pig. She is a snuggler!
Here is Topher holding Rikki. She is more an adventurer. I think if they escape from the cage, it will be because of her!

The boys are doing really well with their new guinea pig responsibilities! They are very attentive. The first thing they do when they wake up is make sure their "girls" are okay. I hope it lasts!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and SAFE day. What a snow storm, eh! (I have to say eh because I feel like I am in Canada now!)
Look, I got Terry to smile!
Santa brought lots of stuff in the stockings. Topher got enough money to buy his guinea pig! (Yes, I said guinea pig)

Look, I got Tim to smile too! Tim got enough money for his guinea pig (yeah, he's getting one too. I guess mom has inherited two new pets!) Santa brought something called "Flarp" which is basically fart in a jar. It doesn't take a lot to entertain the Morleys. The kids and Terry must have made fart sounds for three hours!

Here I am with my boys. This will be the last Christmas with all of them as my "little boys". Alex will turn 18 in April and be an official adult. His band is embarking on a European tour this summer. I am so scared and so excited for him! Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Dogs

Here are my cute Christmas dogs, all groomed up and pretty. Gizmo looks like he's been smoking weed. I wonder what those groomers give dogs to calm them down.......

Christmas Tree Tagged!

YEAH! Mom finally got the Christmas tree out! Here are the hardworking boys setting it up.

Such concentration! This is hard work!

Finished! You can't see the lights, but they are blue

When Alex was a baby, I bought him an ornament and started a tradition. I have bought my kids an ornament for Christmas every year. Now there are 49 and they cover the entire tree. It has been fun. What is sad is next year, I will give Alex his last one because he will turn 18 and become an official adult. I can't believe it has been 18 years since this tradition started! Also, if you are reading this, you have been tagged. You have to put a picture of your Christmas tree on your blog for everyone to see!

Okay, so Andrea got me. Basically this is a picture of your fridge tag. Anyone who reads my blog is tagged. You have to put a picture of your fridge on your blog. Good luck!

Tim found my camera again.

Happy Birthday, Shella!

My first baby is turning 29 today. The horror! I guess you'll have to be the big sister now because I'm only 23! :O. Seriously, happy birthday to my bestest sister in the whole world!

Hard to be a kid (and a dog!)

We had a fun day of shopping, McDonald's, playing in the park, and ice cream on Friday. I guess I must have really worn them out because the CRASHED Friday night. Here is Tim in his blanket cocoon.

Here is Toph and Gizmo. I guess it's hard for a dog to lay around all day, play, poop, eat, etc

They were both out. I wish the insomnia fairy would let me sleep like that!

Yeah, Brendon!

Brendon has received his first report card this year. The grades are as follows:

Spanish C-

Reading C+

Algebra B+

Guitar B (he is really doing well, he practices all of the time!)

Exploring Tech I A

Geography for Life B-

Language Arts D+

He just barely squeaked through on that Language Arts! I don't blame him, english majors are hard to please (right Hillary!). He received a 2.6. Now this is compared to his cumulative GPA that he has received for the last two years of maybe 1.0. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Bren! His goal is to get that 3.0 so he can have a great insurance rate when he starts driving (lardhavemercy). Good job Bren!

Insomnia fairy III

(set to the tune of American woman)

Insomnia fairy, stay away from me
Insomnia fairy, daddy let me be
Don't come hanging around my door
I don't want to see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time playin' with you
Now fairy, stay away
Insomnia fairy, listen what I say
Don't come knocking around my door
I don't want to see your shadow no more
Colored lights can hypnotize
Prop open someone else's eyes
Now fairy, get away
Insomnia fairy, listen what I say
Don't come hanging around my door
Don't want to see your face no more
I don't need your alarm machines
I don't need your stressed out scenes
Colored lights can hypnotize
Prop open someone else's eyes
Now fairy, get away

I gotta goI gotta getta away
Babe I gotta go I wanna fly away

Kicken' it!

On Saturday we cleaned up all of the leaves in our yard. It was hard work and everyone was really tired the next day. Tim and Toph decided to kick it in my room (on my side of the bed!) and watch Mario and Sonic movies. Don't they look cozy!

I wonder what if feels like to be the mother of a rockstar......

Alex's band signed to a record label! It is a small label called Statik Factory Records, but they are paying for a lot of their merchandise now (I'm still working on your shirt, Dave!) and their tour dates. This is their latest promotional pic. In case you can't tell, Alex is the one in the middle. They are headed on tour again and this time they are playing venues out east! I sure hope this works out for him, because his heart and soul is in this and not in school! Love you Alex!

Trick or Treat

While out trick or treating, we ran into Michael Myers Turner! He caught Tim!

And then he caught Toph!
This caused Topher to turn into Jason Voorhees Morley. Daddy doesn't give him enough allowance!

Now Michael Myers Turner is getting them both!

When we arrived at Dave and Lisa's we split off like we usually do. Dave and I took the kids trick or treating while Terry and Lisa remained to "hold the fort" and make us pizza. It is pretty fun to trick or treat with Michael Myers. No one messes with you and it is pretty good entertainment watching teenagers run away at top speed.

Halloween Parade at School

Here is the Halloween Parade at Tim and Toph's school. What a lot of fun and interesting costumes!

Here is Tim. He is a "werehog" from Sonic Unleashed. He looks really good!
Here is Toph. He decided to be Megaman again this year which was nice because I didn't have to make another costume! I was a dead crossing guard. I put a tire mark over me and painted my face like a skeleton with some blood coming out. Trust me, some days it isn't a far stretch. I forgot to take a picture of myself though, so you'll have to use your imagination. We had fun!

Trunk or Treat!

Our trunk or treat night at our church was last night. For those of you who are not familiar with trunk or treat, everyone does trick or treat around the parking lot. You hand out candy from your trunk. Our neighbors are BYU fans and decided to go as Deranged Ute Fans. I just had to get pics because we are such Ute fans!

Here is my neighbor doing the Ute sign. She doesn't look too bad, we'll let her live!

Here is her husband. As you can see, he has toilet paper hanging from his bum and stuck to his shoe! He also has a sign on his back that says "Kick me, I'm a Ute fan!"

This is the end all pose. Terry saw this one and said, "That does it, this means war. We're getting a Ute flag!"

Here's our trunk. We had haunted house music going and everything. When it got dark, it looked better because the jack o' lanterns were lit. We had a great time!

Finally.....the pumpkins!

We did our pumpkins last Saturday, but I have been trying to get Tim to let me take his picture with the pumpkin since then. I finally threatened to not take him trick or treating (I'm such a good mom) if he didn't let me take his picture. I took one (I should have posted that one too) and he was all sour puss faced. So I told him I was going to take one more. Terry snuck up behind me and I don't know what he did (I don't want to know) but he got Tim to laugh. Bingo!

The Losers Finally Win

Terry and Neil always try to win the Girls on Trivial Pursuit. Yeah, they always lose. So tonight, for the first time in a long time, they finally won. They were so excited they had to have us take their picture. So here ya go boys, here is your glory! (til the next game!)

Climbing Higher

Topher received his first award at school today. It is called the Climbing Higher Award. Every month the teachers choose one student from each of their classes. Each student is chosen for a particular deed or achievement. Topher won this month because he follows the rules very well. His teacher, Miss Bennett, thinks he is the best. Congratulations Topher!
