Field Trip to Dimple Dell

Fourth grade trip to Dimple Dell.  We learned about the environment and habitats.  You have to hike down into the ravine.  It is also a trail for horses.  There are some going up the hill behind Topher.
Topher liked this cool mushroom growing on the side of a tree.  It is really pretty down there.
Most of the trees were the type that lose their leaves.  There are a couple lone pine trees.  Our guide says this is a blue spruce.
This part of the trail was looking for animal tracks.  You can see the cone to the right of Topher.  The cones marked the tracks so the kids could look at them.
Topher is doing some work with temperatures and how they differ throughout the trail.
Self portrait before we went down the trail. :)
We had a great time.  I love to accompany the kids on their field trips.  Can't wait for the next one!
