Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: Who Was the First Female Actor? Margaret Hughes may have been the first professional actress in England. The occasion of her first performance was on 8 December 1660, in a production of Shakespeare's play Othello, when she played the role of Desdemona in a production by Thomas Killigrew's new King's Company at their Vere Street theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hughes

A Little Taste of Paradise

The 48 hour flu bug has reared its ugly head at my house. Tim was sick for two days. Yesterday I didn't feel so well, but I decided to woman up and go to work anyway. I WAS WRONG! So I called Tim to tell him I was on my way home (forewarning in case he was having a serious mosh party). When I got home, this was what was waiting for me.........
Check out that drink! It was pink lemonade with strawberry and peach garnish. He hoped it would make my stomach feel better. Just the thought made all of the difference! What do you think people, is he going to make a great chef or what!!!

Can You Believe This????

THIS is what I (and I'm sure many of you) woke up to this morning!!!!!
Isn't this wild!!!!
I think it is a funny contrast between the green of the trees/grass and the white snow.
These are all trees from my neighbors' yards. I had to take the pics this way so you can actually see how much snow is falling.
Here are my poor lights getting doused! Good thing I haven't planted my garden yet!
I think today is a hot cocoa/fireplace/chili cheese for lunch kind of day! In May. The end of May. Right before June. When it's supposed to be hot.

Mother's Day Frolic

Oh Mother's Day, that wonderful day that we get to be pampered! First of all, I slept in until 11:00. Can you believe it! My family must have thought I was dead! I haven't done that in YEARS. I really mean it, YEARS! Don't ask me what the hell happened! Must have been that great party at Nineseven's. Then I got breakfast in bed. I must admit this happens quite frequently, not just on Mother's Day because I married Terry Flay. Or Emeril Morley, take your pic. After that, Terry and I went "bumming around" (what he calls it). Came home to do my famous impression of Jabba the Hut, when Tim tells us our friends Neil and Donielle called. They invited us to Scotty's house for a pool party. Awesome!
His pool is friggin NICE!!! I don't EVEN want to know how much it cost.
The best part is that the water was set to the upper 80s. Oh yeah!
So the parents are up on the deck wrapped in our beach towels because the sun decided to excuse itself and take a bathroom break, or a whiskey break, whatever it is that the sun does when it goes away, while the kids were swimming in the nice warm pool.
Very nice backyard!
Scott says its a work in progress, but it looks wonderful already to me. Notice his garden in the background....already in.....jealous!
Topher doesn't need a life jacket anymore!
We had a great time. After we left, we were feeling like we needed a BBQ. So we went to Red Robin at the District. While the food was pretty good, the service was kind of bad, it was freezing in there, and it cost a $%^&load of money for what we got. Probably won't be going there again. All in all, wonderful day, as usual. My boys always take care of their lady! Love you guys and thank you!

Rachelle C. Cooper, Esquire! (haha)

Yay Rachelle, you made it!!! Utah State University class of 2010!
Jumbotron!
I love this pic. I love that she is the only one that has turned around. This was with my new monster zoom too, because I was WAY up in the seats!
She chose me (ya, ME) to go up and take her walking photos. The college didn't hire a photographer, can you believe that! I tried to do you proud, Andrea!!!
I tried to take a fast photo of her walking down the ramp but it turned out fuzzy. So here she is again lookin' good with some random dude behind her! At least he smiled!
Ever wonder where I get my smart ass attitude from? Well, I'll let you decide. Years ago, my dad promised my sister that when she graduated from college, he would buy her a car. So, here is said car. Vroom vrooom!!!!!
Yummy cake!

Now our family has TWO college grads!!! Movin' on up!

Happy Birthday, Terry!

Happy Birthday, Terry!
Okay, here is how the day was supposed to go......

Go cross the kiddies
Go to school and volunteer
Go to the tire place and get new tires
Go to the store to buy the cake stuff
Go to school and have lunch with my kids
Go home and make the cake, get everything ready
Go cross the kiddies
Take my kids to the library
Go home, wait for Terry to get home, surprise him.

NOW, how it REALLY happened.....

Go cross the kiddies
Go to school and volunteer
Go to the tire place....they have every tire EXCEPT the ones I need. Dude tells me he can have them to me in an hour
Go home (SHOULD have gone to the store, but I am an idiot) wait for the tire dude to call
Go to the school to have lunch with my kids. Tire dude calls me (mind you TWO hours later) and tells me the tires are ready.
Take the car in. Pay cash for all but the last 20% of the bill. TRY to put it on an account....lender wants me to REAPPLY for my account. Waiting...waiting.... I have to go cross the kiddies!!! So, since I look SO trustworthy and since I work for the police department, he lets me go
Go cross the kiddies
Tire dude calls and says everything has been approved, come BACK and sign. Okay, been to the tire place THREE times by now.
On my way home, Bren calls, he missed the bus
Go pick him up
Go get my kids take them to the library
Go to the store to get the cake stuff
By now, Terry is home, the surprise is ruined and I am exhausted. We eat the pizza I bought AND THEN
Terry and I go to the store where he BUYS HIS OWN BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!!!
Go home, max out on sugar, go to bed
By the way, Bev...he probably didn't get exactly what he wanted (wink, wink) but we did get him his very own Ute's Snuggie.

SO Happy Birthday, Terry! What a day!!!!

Happy Anniversary to My Hunnie! (On the 1st)

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do..
I will be strong I will be faithful
'Cos I'm counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living.
A deeper meaning.

I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me...

And when the stars are shining brightly
In the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish
Send it to heaven
Then make you want to cry..
The tears of joy
For all the pleasure and the certainty.
That we're surrounded
By the comfort and protection of..
The highest power.
In lonely hours.
The tears devour you..
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever,
Until the sky falls down on me...
Bridge

Oh can't you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'Cos it's standing right before you.
All that you need will surely come...

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do...

To the man that cooks, cleans, does laundry, fixes everything under the sun, provides for his family, loves me more than I deserve, and keeps us safe, Happy 11th Anniversary!!! Love, Jaylene

Topher Gets a "Big Boy" Bike

Well ,we here at the Morley house think the time has finally come. I mean seriously, how many 7 year olds do you know that can still ride their tricycle?
Actually, poor Topher is so small for his age...wait, I'm sorry.... he is "fun sized" (his words, not ours!) that he just recently grew out of his tricycle. I hope he doesn't have to buy his shoes in the kids department when he is in high school (right Kristi? :) )
So here he is, cruising on his new ride! Now he can keep up with the older boys!
Not short on charm or personality though!
Just goes to show, great things DO come in small packages!!!
