“Character – the willingness to accept responsibility for one’s own life – is the source from which self-respect springs.” – Joan Didion
facfacFact of the Week
Too much homework can cause stress, physical health problems, and even alienation from society, a Stanford researcher found.
Joke of the Week
Joke of the Day: If someone from the 1950s suddenly appeared, what would be the most difficult thing to explain about life today? One answer: “I possess a device in my pocket that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man. I use it to look at pictures of cats and get into arguments with strangers.”
Those of you who know Topher know that he has quite the imagination. If you have been to my house, you have probably seen all of the "hideouts" he has constructed behind all of my furniture and in all the nooks and crannies. What I love about these hideouts is that no one can see them, so my house stays "clean" and he can have his fun too. One of his characters is Professor X. He runs an agency. I am Doctor Jeenyus, and all of his friends are agents too. Here is an aerial view of the agency. Notice the "couch". Here is a view of the door.
Of course any agency is not complete without a t.v. Notice it is fully equipped with video games!
On the lighter side, Topher lost another tooth last night. This is his second one and he decided to write an advance thank you note to the toothfairy again.
It says "Thank you for the money. I'll never forget you. Topher Morley."
Okay as some of you may know, BubbleShare is no longer up and running. So I found a new picture sharing site to post the party on. Unfortunately, I don't think it is going to work quite the same. When you click play, the slide show opens in a new window. So... open the new window, but keep my blog up so you can hear the music and it will work. Talk about the dark ages! Oh well. What a great party!
So after a VERY LONG day at work, I came home to this........... Brendon had been watching the kids for me and they were playing their characters. I won't even attempt to know what their names are because they change so often. I don't think Bren wanted me to take his pic, but I thought it was cool how he was in costume to play with them too. Notice Tim's smart alec face. This made my LONG DAY go away!
Okay, the reason I had my grad party clear in August was so that I could show off my diploma. I applied for it the second my grades came through for my last class. It said it would take four to six weeks to arrive, so I planned the party six weeks (and a little bit more) from the day I applied. I received my transcript, but no diploma for the party. The party was last Saturday as anyone can see from the last post. The joke was that the diploma would probably arrive in the mail on Monday. Well. I went to the mailbox on Monday and guess what was sitting there all nice and pristine? You got it! The diploma came. Figures.
Oh, wow! What a party! Thanks to everyone who helped me celebrate! For those of you who couldn't make it, I know you were here with me in spirit. Thanks for all of the wonderful gifts! I have so many wonderful friends and family, I am truly blessed. I was having so much fun, I forgot to get my camera out, so half the people that were there left and I didn't get their picture.
