Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: Who Was the First Female Actor? Margaret Hughes may have been the first professional actress in England. The occasion of her first performance was on 8 December 1660, in a production of Shakespeare's play Othello, when she played the role of Desdemona in a production by Thomas Killigrew's new King's Company at their Vere Street theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hughes

RIP Leroy - Post from the Past

We lost our beloved Leroy May 27, 2020. He was getting on in rat years, but was doing fine. Then one night he made a weird squeak and not long after that, he passed. Tim thinks he had a stroke or a heart attack. He was such a good pet. Tim was devastated. Topher and I went out back with him so he could bury him. Tim was crying so hard. It is so hard to watch your child grieve the death of a beloved pet and not be able to do anything to console them.

I bought a picture frame for Tim and he chose to put this picture in it.

RIP Leroy, we will miss you!

Mother's Day 2020 - Post from the Past

Well, Blogspot put the pictures backwards again and I am too lazy to change them. Dave and Lisa had us over for a BBQ and to celebrate Mother's Day. She made us these cute flower arrangements.

Tim and Ashley got an espresso for me, yum!
Tim also made a card for me..

Terry smoked a WONDERFUL salmon. It was one of the best he's ever done!
He also bought a necklace with my initials

Alex bought me an EXPENSIVE Minky Couture blanket. I won't lie, I LOVE that thing!

It was a pretty great Mother's Day. We didn't see a lot of extended family because of the pandemic, but it was still good!

Post From the Past: Happy 21st Anniversary to Us!

It was a crazy time! The pandemic was just taking hold, but we were all going stir crazy because everything was shut down. The weather started warming up, so everyone wanted to go camping because it was outdoors and less transmission risk. Terry wanted to go, but I didn't, because I figured it was going to be a MADHOUSE. I decided not to go because of that, but also because my hours had been cut, and Curtis had asked me if I would work the 1st because it was, well...the first of the month. So, we spent our anniversary apart. I didn't get a chance to tell Terry "Happy Anniversary" until later that night, and then I went to bed. He had ordered these beautiful flowers, and they were supposed to be delivered that day, but the flower shop screwed up and didn't get them to me. He thought I was mad! Luckily they made it to me the next day. Here they are.....

As anyone who knows me KNOWS, I am a flower/plant JUNKIE. So, even though we spent it apart, it was still awesome!

Post From the Past - Easter 2020

Happy Easter 2020! The Pandemic was just getting in full swing. We had a little celebration with just the family in our house. We had to miss Alex, Brendon, and Lyndie! :( Here are my Easter lillies. Some traditions covid couldn't touch!

Terry decided to smoke some turkeys. Here they are in their finished glory. They were SO Good!
I decided to match the dogs with their bandanas.
It was Lady's first Easter with us.

Here are the "kids" baskets. We usually just gave them a chocolate bunny and an egg with $20 bucks, but since the pandemic had hit and we were all kind of feeling depressed, I decided to do full on baskets.
This is Ashley's...
This is Topher's...
This is Tim's...

...and here is our finished feast! It was a good day, but we missed everybody that wasn't able to come!
