Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: Who Was the First Female Actor? Margaret Hughes may have been the first professional actress in England. The occasion of her first performance was on 8 December 1660, in a production of Shakespeare's play Othello, when she played the role of Desdemona in a production by Thomas Killigrew's new King's Company at their Vere Street theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hughes

Mother's Day 2018

Mother's Day 2018! What a relaxing weekend! On Saturday, we had Peama and Brendon over for dinner. We had a taco bar, yum! Brendon brought us flowers.
Peama brought me this cute card.

Here is my card from Mom I got the next day....

 Tim brought me these flowers
There were so many, I had to put them into two vases!
Brett and Gina asked if we wanted to play, so we went to their house. Brendon was the guinea pig for the latest Captain Morgan Splash Ball....watermelon.....

Looks like it is pretty good (yeah, it was!)
Alex sent me a Happy Mother's Day text.
We spent the evening with Brett and Gina and had some cocktails, it was a wonderful evening!

Happy Anniversary, Birthday Terry, and Mother's Day!

Our Anniversary/Terry's Birthday/Mother's Day weekend! It was May the 4th when we left, so I had to wear my First Order shirt....
When we arrived, we ate a place called El Chubasco. I got street tacos.
They had the BEST salsa bar!
Terry's lunch.....
 Here is our room! Sink...
 Bathroom....
Mid room.....
Bed.....
HOT TUB!!!

View facing the door.
They have Keurig!
We went and got a bunch of gluten free treats!!
 Of course, souvenirs!
Terry took me to Main Street. OH MY GOODNESS!!! This picture doesn't EVEN do it justice! So cool!
I LOVED the architecture. I think I took a picture of every building (in fact I KNOW I took a picture of every building!)
 O. P. Rockwell Cocktail Lounge & Music Hall

I thought this little tree and planter were so cute and dainty
 The Statues were gorgeous too
Here is the Egyptian Theater, home of many independent film releases

They even have a trolley!

The houses and streets going up the hill were so cool. This photo doesn't even do it justice.

This photo is supposed to show the houses going up the hill too. It's not supposed to be a picture of the bathrooms......
Park City Miner

I LOVED how there were stairs between the streets to make access easier in the snow. So cool!

There were some mysterious, hidden places as well. I wanted to go explore, but didn't have enough time. That is for a future visit.....

The old Park City Hotel had been changed into shops. The entrance still had the stained glass, very elegant!
 The basement was a restaurant...

The sidewalks were also very ornate.....
The original houses have to be remodeled with the original, historic city in mind. There were a lot of houses that were sinking and you could tell they weren't being restored yet. There were also several that were "mid" restored.

Lots of places had these cool "bubble" lights. I would LOVE to see what they looked like at night.

You too can own this beautiful statue of this deer.....for a cool $40,000.00. Chump change

Old time mining cart

Old Skier
I love the bold, bright colors that they have used to paint the building. I would imagine it sticks out even more in the winter.
The few bars that were right on Main Street were PACKED because it was, A. Cinco de Mayo, and B. It was the Kentucky Derby. The hats and outfits were AWESOME!

This restaurant had THEEE best patio I have ever seen.....

Look at the stairs you have to climb to get to the front door of this house! Terry's mom Kathy was born in Park City. She said they had a house close to Main Street. She was supposed to be born in the miner's hospital, but Grandma Lois didn't make it past the steps. She said there was a HUGE staircase going up to their front door. Wouldn't it be funny if this was the house? I need to show Kathy.....
Love how the houses go up the mountain

Here is a pretty church. I got more pictures of it, but they are out of order here.....

This is the "city" park....

more of the church.....

Here is my new house! It is for sale! I think I could swing it.....

This was THEE coolest Victorian style house, but it was down a private road. I think it had been turned into a spa? I tried to get pictures as we passed in the truck.....

I had to get a picture of the farm with the "nipples" for Terry......
Here is the miner's hospital. The perfect "horror movie" hospital....the walkway going down....the front courtyard...Stephen King would LOVE this!

Of course we had to go see the new "monstrosities" Here is the Waldorf Astoria Park City

Here is the Wyndham

This is the only hot tub picture I got! It was so nice to sit and watch Star Wars movies (May the 4th be with you) and kick it in the nice warm tub.
It was a very relaxing and wonderful weekend. I hope to do it again very soon.....
