Quote of the Week

An ideal wife is any woman who has an ideal husband. -Booth Tarkington

Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: How long do astronauts stay in quarantine? Apollo 11, 12, and 14 Astronauts from these missions were quarantined for 21 days after returning from the moon, beginning when the lunar lander's hatch closed on July 21, 1969. The quarantine was a precaution in case the astronauts had been exposed to dangerous lunar microorganisms.

Christmas with Allee and Boston

Well, we wrap up Christmas season with a visit from Allee and Boston. Because of our sickness here, we did things a little late. First of all, I want to show how much he has grown up. Here is Boston in April.

and here they are from Saturday. Look how much his hair has grown. I think Allee lost weight too (like she had it to lose!). Don't they look great!

Boston is a pro at opening those presents. Topher is such the helpful uncle too. He kept asking me all week when they were going to come.

Candy! It was all about the candy!

He christened his new monkey with chocolate!

But the present he liked best was his new train track. Thanks, Peama and Grandpa Steve!

He would only stop playing with it long enough to get candy from Terry. Yes, he has Terry wrapped around his finger!

It was so much fun, thanks again for coming you guys! Love ya!

Happy New Year!

Well, I had been gearing up for the ultimate vacay this year. From 23rd to the 4th I was going to do my best Jabba the Hut impression. Well, I did it alright, totally sick! That's right! I sat on my throne (my lazy boy, not the other one!), with my Snuggie, another blanket, bucket-o-ibuprofen, bucket-o-decongestant, tissues and the remote. What a vacation (haha.) Anyway, I missed the big party at Neil and Donielle's (sorry guys, I hear it was a blast!), but my cute little boys didn't want me to stay home alone. So we watched movies. Topher fell asleep at 10:30 (poor guy!) and Tim and I were fighting to stay awake. At 11:50, we woke Topher up and went upstairs so we could get ready to do some serious pan bangin. Topher was so tired, Tim gave him a piggy back up the stairs.
It didn't take long for them to wake up though. Here they are, ready to go!
Here is our "champagne" ready to go! (Thanks Andrea!)
We counted down to midnight, went out and banged the pans, watched some fireworks the neighbors were lighting, came in and had a toast, then called Daddy at Neil's to wish everyone Happy New Year.
Then we SO went to bed!!! Happy New Year everyone!

Merry Christmas 2009!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday! Ours was a blast! Here is Tim leaving a snack for Santa. Topher was so tired, he didn't want to come out. He did write a note for Santa and he gave it to me to put with the snack.

When we woke up the next morning, it was gone!

Santa had left a note for Topher!

Christmas dogs!

You know how there are people that always have their eyes closed in pictures? They are ultra sensitive to the flash. Well, that is Gizmo. I must have taken about 5 pics of him before I got him to keep his eyes open. They were so funny (although he probably doesn't think so!) I finally got smart and turned the flash off!

Well, as the following pics will show, my kids cleaned up! Notice their "interesting" faces when they pose!

I was afraid it was going to be a VERY LEAN Christmas out our house this year. I know it has been for a lot of us. Fortunately, Santa was able to pull it out of his booty one more year and make it great for our kids. We did, however, reflect on how lucky we are, and that Santa may not have been able to do that for all families. We count our blessings everyday! Merry Christmas!

Hearth and Home Christmas Eve Party

First things first! Bev brought baby Jake. Best Christmas present ever!!!!
Okay, welcome to the Hearth and Home annual Christmas Eve Party, where no one wants their picture taken! Here is your host, Santa Turner!
Look at that spread! Whoot whoot!

Ah, two people who don't mind getting their pic taken! New big sister Mikaela, and photo tip extraordinaire Scott!

This gift is awesome! I would just like to see someone TRY to steal this!

Hey, I just heard Jerry say party at his house! Let's go!

This is not NEAR as cool as the BYU cozies I brought! I'll play this while I am driving to camp!

Maybe I can hide my face behind this Broncos Santa. Oh, sorry Aaron!

We don't need no stinkin hospital! We'll deliver this baby right here with this!

Yeah, my balls are WAY bigger than this!

Rich? Shy guy? I don't THINK so!

Now how can I POSSIBLY make this work with my quad?????

I stole the baby deliver kit! This can't be left to amateurs!!!

Yeah, my dogs will eat this in like two seconds!!!

Thanks guys for being good sports and letting me practice my new photography skills on you (I still have SO far to go!). If you didn't see your picture here, it was because you were being a PUNK and moved too fast for me!!! :) Merry Christmas H&H!

On the twelfth day of Christmas (Christmas Eve!) my parents gave to me........

When I was little, one of the traditions of my family was that we got to open a present on Christmas Eve. Sometimes we could choose, but sometimes, my mom gave us one to open that was special. When this happened, it was usually pajamas. I would always look forward to nice, new, cozy pajamas. I like to do this for my kids and it has an added bonus, (although my mom was probably thinking the same thing) the kids will look cute in Christmas morning pics with their cute new jammies on!
Here is Super Mario Galaxy Boy! (or boys as the case may be). Notice they are wearing their hats from day five :) Bren didn't want to put his pajamas on, so I told him holding them was good enough!
I didn't give Terry his yet, so I can't tell you what it is just on the off chance that he might read my blog for the first time in his life! I will MAKE him take a picture with it when he gets home today! Merry Christmas everyone!
