Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: Who Was the First Female Actor? Margaret Hughes may have been the first professional actress in England. The occasion of her first performance was on 8 December 1660, in a production of Shakespeare's play Othello, when she played the role of Desdemona in a production by Thomas Killigrew's new King's Company at their Vere Street theatre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hughes

Pioneer Day at Utah Lake 2020 - Post from the Past

We decided to get away at the last minute for Pioneer Day with the Turners. We were still in the early stages of the pandemic and it was risky to go with big groups of people. It is always tranquil to go with just them. Here is a shot of the storm that passed us by the first night.

It was SO hot, we brought a pool. we filled it up.......and found out it had a hole in the top layer. We didn't have a very deep swimming pool, but it did the job.

I love that we are so close to the airport. There are several BIG jets that come in....

...and then there are some really neat vintage ones that come in.

I got REALLY sunburned, what else is new!
Tucky Tuck spilled my drink....bummer!
I took some pictures of this quail family, but you can't see them!

It was a lovely weekend, and once again, a great escape from the pandemic!

Look at this picture and tell me what is wrong.....
Here's a closer look. Look at the object I purchased....now look at the background....
If I have to tell you, you are DEAD to me AND fired......

Dogs Represent at Our House July 2020 - Post From the Past

The doggies represent at our house!
Lady sports my team's colors.....
...and poor Gizmo has to wear....
Cowboys gear!
I also wanted to add this...She has two treats, but doesn't want to put them down. Our bed is her sanctuary because Giz won't jump up there.

We love our silly puppies and we MISS Dusty!

July 4th 2020 - Post from the Past

Post from the Past! We had a GREAT time at Dave and Lisa's with the Turner/Camp Pyrotechnics Show! Lisa made this yummy spread with marshmellows and fresh fruit.
Terry decided to do two kinds of "layer" dips.
The moon was HUGE, this picture doesn't do it any justice. I took SEVERAL videos of the fireworks, but I can't get them to upload. Bummer.
Here is the crew that made it that night. It was really nice to leave covid behind for awhile and be with good friends.
Of course Lisa and I HAD to do our selfie!

Quick Getaway to Park City for our 21st Anniversary - Post from the Past

We snuck away to celebrate our anniversary a little late. In the mornings, all of these little critters are out and about...

Of course we got our favorite room, the hot tub room at the Best Western. I LOVE this room!

Of course we had to go to our favorite, Loco Lizard! We usually try new things, but we always have to have at least ONE meal here.

Because covid was still raging, they had closed off the street to put dining areas outside. I liked it!

Terry got corned beef and veggies, I got vegan chili and a chicken BLT. Most tasty!

Took a picture of with the bear. I didn't have any make up on.....neither did Terry.....
This was a new place we tried for breakfast. It is called The Eating Establishment and its on Main Street. SUPER yummy!

I love to walk up and down on Main Street, I think it is so cool. I found the Banksy door...

...and we completed our delicious meal quest with Pizza Mod. SO good!
More pics of the varmints....

It was a fun getaway, I LOVE going to Park City. Happy Anniversary, Terry!
