Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: How long do astronauts stay in quarantine? Apollo 11, 12, and 14 Astronauts from these missions were quarantined for 21 days after returning from the moon, beginning when the lunar lander's hatch closed on July 21, 1969. The quarantine was a precaution in case the astronauts had been exposed to dangerous lunar microorganisms.

Topher gets climbing higher!

Topher got a climbing higher award for 1st grade. He received it for getting 100% on his spelling tests. Way to go Topher!!! As some of you know from previous posts about climbing higher awards, the first award is a pennant, then any award after that is a Mountain Shadows Cub pin. He and Tim are each working on getting a pennant with six pins.
Here is a picture of the gang that won this week.
They were so done getting pics taken by this time. I tried to make them laugh by telling them to say "cheeseballs!" It worked for some of them!

On the fifth day of Christmas my parents gave to me..........

Bren - Axe to drive the ladies wild. Tim - a shirt that says, "Be nice to me or I'll sic my ninja monkeys on you!" Topher - a sword to get bad guys with!
Terry got some Axe too. Rar, rar!!!

On the third day of Christmas my parents gave to me.......

I forgot to mention that this starts on December 13th every year so that the 12th day of Christmas falls on Christmas Eve. We have another tradition we do on that night that I have tied in with the twelve days of Christmas. I won't tell you what it is because it will spoil the surprise so stay tuned!

Naruto banks and a pack of licorice!!!
Terry got a box of Turtles. Yum!!!!!

On the second day of Christmas my parents gave to me........

A cap gun complete with working handcuffs and a key!
Same, same. Tim and Toph stowed their guns in the "agency" for later use on secret agent missions!
A whole bunch of gum for fresh breath for the ladies!
Terry got chocolate covered cashews. Yum!

On the first day of Christmas my parents gave to me.......

When we first moved into this house, I started a tradition of giving gifts for the twelve days of Christmas instead of one big blitz on Christmas day. It has been really fun! So here we go.........

A Christmas ornament and Hershey's chocolate!
A Christmas ornament and Snickers! (Here is Tim trying to smile. He has such a mean mom!)
A Christmas ornament and Butterfingers!
Terry won't let me take his picture, but he got Milky Way bars.

Happy Birthday Rachelle!!

Okay, I blew this one, I had it ready on Friday which was Rachelle's 30th birthday, and I didn't get a chance to post it! So here we go!

When I was eight, my mom told me she was going to have a baby. I was so excited! I had two brothers, and while another brother would have been great, I really wanted a sister. So... I wished on falling stars for nine long months. Then, on December 11th, I got my wish! A baby sister was born! She was my first baby. I took her everywhere with me and she used to call me "mama Jaylene". Or, Jayleeenaa la la la la la when I wouldn't come and get her out of the bathtub! Anyway, sorry it is late, but Happy Birthday to the bestest little sister ever!!!!!
