Quote of the Week

An ideal wife is any woman who has an ideal husband. -Booth Tarkington

Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: How long do astronauts stay in quarantine? Apollo 11, 12, and 14 Astronauts from these missions were quarantined for 21 days after returning from the moon, beginning when the lunar lander's hatch closed on July 21, 1969. The quarantine was a precaution in case the astronauts had been exposed to dangerous lunar microorganisms.

Kathy, this one's for you!

I just wanted to take a moment and tell the world what a wonderful mother-in-law I have. Not many people can say that (hence all of the mother-in-law jokes) but I truly can. I call her mom and I mean it. I have two moms! Anyway, she is always doing things for us and I came upon this comic and it reminded me of her. No, SHE is not stupid! If you know her, anything that has to do with "stupid" is her mantra. She has a bumper sticker on her car that says, "You can't fix stupid!" I love it! So this is her motto right here! Love you, mom!

Happy 60th Birthday, Mom!

We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday on Saturday. We had a great bbq and all of the family was there (except Ryan and Natalie's family. Missed you guys!). Here is my mom with her cake. By the way, my sister-in-law makes these. Visit her website at the bottom of my blog page!

So here is the best picture. We gave Madison a VERY late birthday present and part of it was this tiara. I got it on Terry's head and then he let us take a picture! Note: this was not an alcoholic birthday so Terry is STONE sober at the moment! Told you he was a teddy bear!
Alex and Alli came and brought little Boston. I was teasing my grandpa that if I was a grandma, what did that make him? He said proudly "A great-great-grandpa!". So we took a picture of five generations.

We had a great time. Thanks to Rachelle for putting it all together. Thanks mom, for having such a wonderful family. You are one of my best friends, I know a lot of people can't say that about their moms and I am lucky that I can. I hope you have 40 more birthdays like this! I love you!

Happy 60th Birthday, Dad!

Yesterday was my dad's 60th birthday. This is just blowing my mind! Time flies when you're having fun. We had him and his wife Sue over for dinner. Here is his cake (of course golf, duh!)

Here is the young man himself!
Thank you dad for always being there for me. Anytime I have a problem, I don't even get a chance to say what it is before you are on your way over. I love you and I hope your day was the best!

Whew!

Well, I think my energy is finally returning from being totally sapped by school. I won't even post what I did on Saturday. It is safe to say my front yard fences are finally painted. I won't mention the fact that I started two years ago and I basically need to start again! But on Sunday, Terry made the mistake of telling me that cherry wood border boards were on sale. That's all it took! Seven hours later, this is what we have.......

Look at my little artist!

Tim decided he wanted to put a drawing of Sonic on his YouTube home page. So he got out his pencils and drew this. Freehand. No tracing. He is nine. I think it is amazing. But I am the mom, you decide.

Graduation Ceremony

The day finally has come, my graduation! This is the official ceremony for the University of Phoenix!

Here I am outside the dressing room. It was high school all over again. All of the girls were helping each other get their caps on. Hairpins, hairpins, hairpins!
I didn't think I would be able to get pictures because they told us once we were "on the floor" we wouldn't be allowed to leave. Ya right! So here is a picture of my honey and me!

Here is one of my wonderful kids. Alex is missing. He had a show in Colorado and couldn't be there. The life of the budding rock star!

Here is my mom, my grandpa, my grandma, Rachelle and Trey. My dad and Sue came as well as Terry's mom and dad. I have pictures with my dad, but Stephen and Kathy bailed (I think they didn't want their picture taken)! Don't worry! I'll get ya!

This picture is kind of fuzzy, but it is me passing my sister on the way up to the stage to get my recognition.

Here I am making it official! Speaking of official, this ceremony was graduation, but it won't really be official until I complete my last class. The last day of that class is June 15th, hence the countdown clock on my blog. As soon as I pass that class, I have to send in my request for my diploma and that will be it! I expect to recieve it sometime in July and then it will be PARTY TIME! Turner told me he won't come until I actually have a diploma to show! That's ok. I want to show it off anyway!

Jaylene and Terry Turn 10!

Happy anniversary, Terry! I don't have that many pictures of you because you won't let me take any! I put our song on my blog for this post....Truly Madly Deeply. I don't know how it happened to become our song, but it just did. I remember we played it at our wedding twice. We don't hear it as much anymore, but I love that you still remember it when we do. Here is a pic of two of my favorite men. I like the way you are like my grandpa, hard working, very smart about fixing things, and you take such good care of me.

You put out this image of the ornery guy, but we all know what a big teddy bear you are. Especially when you get a few in you!
See! You try to scare the kids, but they see through you. You are the fun uncle they like to beat up! They know that you won't break!

I can't believe we have been together for 10 years (11 actually!) and they have been the best years of my life. Take care of yourself so we can have 60 more! Love you.
