An ideal wife is any woman who has an ideal husband. -Booth Tarkington

Fact of the Week

Fact of the Week: How long do astronauts stay in quarantine? Apollo 11, 12, and 14 Astronauts from these missions were quarantined for 21 days after returning from the moon, beginning when the lunar lander's hatch closed on July 21, 1969. The quarantine was a precaution in case the astronauts had been exposed to dangerous lunar microorganisms.

Are these our babies?

The dogs are totally entranced by the guinea pigs. They aren't quite sure what to make of them. When Gizmo hears them squeal, he comes running from whatever part of the house he was in. Dusty likes to bump them with her nose, trying to get them to play. Sam is at the top of this photo, Rikki is closer to Dusty. She could almost be her puppy, they have the same coloring.

They are quite the attentive "parents".
After we put the pigs away, the dogs spend a while sniffing the area they were playing. It looks like they are trying to figure out just what the heck they are.

It is always fun to watch them play. It is hillarious!

When we give the guinea pigs their "treats" of lettuce and carrots, the dogs think they have to eat some too. They will even eat the pig's timothy hay, which is basically "uber fiber". The dogs are so funny when they think that something else is getting their rewards!

Update on Unicorn Boy

Tim is feeling much better this morning. Although the bump has not gone down in size (it is actually filling out and made his eyebrow look like Quasimodo) it isn't quite so black and blue. More like a purple yellow. He won't let me take his picture. I don't blame him. But, for all of you that were worried, he is okay. Concussion watch is offically over!

You think I look bad, you should see the other guy (girl)!

This is not for the faint of heart. I had just sat down to lunch today and the school called to tell me Tim had a "collision". What is sad is that the little girl he ran into, has the exact size bump in the exact same place. Can you say concussion! They didn't think I was very funny when I called them the Unicorn Twins. This is the biggest goose egg I have ever seen (and believe me, in my line of work, I have seen a lot of them!). I will be on concussion watch for the next 24!

HOLY Sh!T!!!!!!!

I didn't feel very well on Saturday. So my family took care of me. Terry, Tim and Toph brought me breakfast in bed. It was exquisite. Then they went shopping so I could rest, and boy did I rest! They came home and showed me all of their purchases. Terry likes to go to the store on the weekend to shop for all of his yummy creations he whips up on the weekend (one of these days I will get him to chef school!). After they showed me their stuff, they disappeared. A little while later, Tim and Toph came downstairs and this is the sight I beheld........

Tim's doesn't look too bad, but my beautiful red haired little boy, who I had been waiting for my whole life looks like a Goth! Well, they love it. Thank goodness it isn't permanent!

Happy New Year everyone! As usual, I forgot my camera, so we'll have to rely on Lisa to see pics of our fun time! Here is Toph, hamming it up. He had a great time posing for Lisa and I think she had a great time taking pics of him. To see the slideshow, go to http://davelisandogs.blogspot.com/ Lisa did a great job, one of the most fabulous slide shows I've ever seen. Please check it out!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year's Eve. I wish I could have been with ALL of my family and friends. I was there with you in spirit, if not in body! Here's to a healthy and happy 2009! Love you guys!
