Didn't know if I was going to make it to the party this year. I felt HORRIBLE. Buuuuuuut I took some cold medicine, had a glass of wine...........then I felt better. The crafts were so awesome! I didn't get any pics of the hair flowers, but we did those first. I love them, thanks Barb!!! Then we did coffee/hot chocolate spoons. You dip the spoon in the melted chocolate, then roll it in your favorite topping. When it cools, it looks like these. When you are ready for a hot beverage, you stir it with the spoon and it flavors the drink. Yummy!!!! Thanks Bev!Here are our cute expecting parents, Stephanie and Dan.....Rachelle did the craft for our side of the fam. She got cute glass orbs, then the kids filled them with craft snow or marshmellows and put snowman stickers on them. Quite the hit! Thanks Rachelle! Ah, dear blog reader...we come to the end of another productive and busy year. This is the annual Twelve Days of Christmas post. For the first day, as tradition expects, the kids got an ornament. Can you just feel the excitment from this picture????? Yeah, me either......I gave Terry some blueberry cordials. I had never seen them before. Yeah, we ate them all that night!Day Two made them a little happier. Who can resist sugar!!!Day Three brings gifts of Sonic, beef stick and coloring pages!Day Four: More candy and sugar. Just what they need! Notice the line of caramel coming from Tim's mouth.....I got Daddy some stinkem!!!Day Five: Terry got holiday nut mix. Tim and Topher got really nice waterproof gloves. It makes their hands look like skeleton fingers! No pics of these either! Sorry!
Day Six is an Airsoft gun and ammo for Topher....

and another Sonic for Tim. Terry got pistachios.

Day Seven: The kids got Playstation Store cards. Terry got a cast iron griddle. No pics of these.

Day Eleven brings sleds for the kids and a cleaver for Terry. I might have to be careful with the gifts I give my husband!!!Finally Day Twelve (Christmas Eve) arrives. Tradition dictates jammies on this day!

This Christmas was scary because I had just quit my job. We are so blessed because our bills didn't get behind, I got a wonderful job that I really like, and we still had one of the best Christmases ever! We are totally blessed and I thank God everyday for all of the wonderful things I have. I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas!!!

A proud day for Topher has come. He has decided to get baptized. He chose his Grandpa Jay to do the job.

Wow, what a whirlwind four weeks it has been. Since I started my new job, I haven't had a lot of time to blog! I need to catch up big time. A couple weeks ago, Topher's class had a Habitat Fair. Topher chose to do a report and project about the Red Crab. Here is his 3D habitat.He really had a great time making it. Whenever he has a project at school, he is on mine and Terry's butt to HELP HIM GET IT DONE! I hope this desire to get projects done early stays with him for the rest of his life!!Nice job, Topher!

Welcome, dear blog reader! How thankful I am for all that I have this year. It has been one wild ride, especially since October. So glad everything happens for a reason. At the time I took these pics I hadn't known I was starting my new job. It is going SO well I thought I would express my thanks in this post. I am so thankful for Terry's family. Here is a pic of Tim with his Peama (Kathy) and Grandpa Steve. I am thankful Alex is living his dream and is safe on the road. Misssed him at Thanksgiving though! Here is a pic of Payden and his girlfriend Beth. Great to meet you!I am thankful for Brendon and hoping he is happy where he is. I hope next year I will be thankful for his graduation from high school :) Love you Bren! Here is a pic of me and my sweetie!I am so thankful for Tim. He is doing well in school and growing up so fast. Here is a pic of Kody and his sweetie Heather. I am so greatful for Topher! He is doing so well too. I was worried about his growth for a while, but he is now growing so fast I can't even keep him in clothes! No health problems, no major difficulties, we are truly blessed. Here is Logan with his mamma Kasey.I am greatful for a husband that takes such good care of his family and loves me in spite of all the things I do wrong (hahaha). It is so wonderful to be able to rely on him. A man that cooks, cleans, does laundry and makes a decent living! I am a lucky girl! Trunk or Treat was nice this year because it wasn't a billion degrees below zero. The kids had fun, but as usual didn't want me to take their picture. Topher usually lets me, but even he was DONE this time. Topher was Protoman again this year (i.e. I didn't have to make a costume, woo hoo!)

Time for the annual witches post! I think our secret is out because it gets busier every year! It didn't completely piss me off this year though so we were doing well! The kids love to get their faces painted. Here is Maddie's Hello Kitty.Of course the boys have to be TOUGH! Well dear reader, the time has come. Time to put the trailer away for another year. This is always a sad time for me. On the bright side, it was a GORGEOUS weekend filled with great weather, awesome friends and good times. I was REALLY lazy and didn't get my camera out very much. I only got pics on the first day of Bryce being buried in the sand.................and Topher. Of course when you get buried, we HAVE to give you boobs. Consider yourself lucky if that is ALL you get!!!

I didn't even get a pic of Tim being buried, but trust me.....he was! I am so lucky to have so many good friends in my life and this weekend we made some new ones too! Until next summer....adios camping!!!!

Quit my job as assistant director for the childcare food program. Loved the job and the people....couldn't take the uncertainty caused by my boss. When one door closes, another one opens. I will miss my co-workers SO MUCH! Fortunately I get to see one of them still. I will miss all of my daycare providers. Big list to call and say goodbye to. Anyway, can't wait to see what the future brings. I am excited to start using my $30,000 piece of paper that I have adorning my office wall (i.e. my bachelor's degree). I have these cute little hummingbirds in my back yard. I got SO close to them. I can hold the feeder and they will come and land on it. Too cool!There is one that will fly RIGHT UP TO YOU... so fast it is almost scary. He/she just sort of checks you out. They are really smart!There are two that fight over the food. The little one is the most aggressive. Must have Little Man Syndrome.They are REALLY hard to catch on film, the little buggers are so fast. My camera was on turbo shutter and I barely got any good pics. I will miss them over the winter!

Camping Over the Fourth of July 2011

We went camping with "da gang" to Utah Lake over the 4th of July weekend. Certainly one of our best yet I must say! It was pretty hot, but we didn't let that get us down. Lisa brought the slip and slide for the kids.....BUT the adults couldn't let them have all of the fun, now could we????Terry took one of the firewood containers and turned it into a swimming pool!The kids didn't like the slip and slide on the "thorny" hill, so we moved it to a better location. It was WELL USED the whole weekend!!!Later on, we had a MAJOR water fight. I mean everyone got SOAKED. It felt so good! I think the adults won that one!!!!So then it gets even better! After a wonderful day of boating/swimming on Saturday, we came back and had a luau! It started with everyone getting leid (hahahaha) and yummy frozen drinks, courtesy of the Brentels.Here are da guys looking all studly in their luau attire! Forgot to blog about Tim's end of school project! They had to create their own country. So team members Tim, Michael, and Caeser decided their country would be called....The Black Cobras. Here is their flag....(Tim drew it by the way!)Here is their country. Notice the volcano in the middle of the river. It rolls downhill into the village.Here they are presenting their country to the class.They had to tell what their national sport, farming, animals, history, hero, enemy, and the most important...food!!! Here is quesadilla, a sweet bread that is usually drank with coffee. And, of course, chili verde. Terry made his famous chili verde so Tim could share it with his class. Yeah, there wasn't ANY left! It turned out great!They did a great job and it was a good time to watch. Go Black Cobras!

Second grade did a culture fair.....fifth grade did a hero program. It was very patriotic. They were asked to wear red, white and blue. Soooooooo Mario is pretty patriotic, right?
Here is Tim with some of his friends. It was a very cute programOne of the songs at the end paid tribute to each branch of the armed forces. It was really cool because if you were part of the certain branch, you stood up while your area was being saluted. Almost made me cry!It was nice after the program too because the kids were told they could go down and mingle with their parents. As I was making my way up, all of my "adopted" kids came to greet me and give me hugs. I was the most popular parent there! (Makes me feel so special!)Tim and Micheal said they weren't going to sing.......................Here is the evidence....they sang anyway! Hahaha. Good job guys!

After the drama of Terry's birthday, we celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday. We started out with a wonderful birthday/Mother's Day lunch at El Rancho Grande hosted by Steve and Kathy. It was really cool because for the first time in a long time...THE WHOLE FAMILY WAS THERE! Boy are we getting big! After lunch, my little family came back to the house. We passed an indian jewelry stand on the way home, so Allee, Tim, Topher and I went back and bought some jewelry. Then we came back and kicked it on the porch and enjoyed the sun!

Okay, so to continue with my extremely late posts, we celebrated Terry's birthday on the Friday before. Unfortunately it will be a birthday to remember for him. We went to Dave and Lisa's for a BBQ. While EARLY in the evening (i.e. no alcohol yet), Terry accidently fell into the window well. I don't know how he didn't break himself or the window, but he came out with some nasty gouges in his ankle. Yikes! Of course he WON'T ever go to the doctor, (couldn't stitch it up anyway), so we liquored him up REALLY WELL, gave him a lidocaine patch, and fixed him up.
He wouldn't let me take his picture (this is an Easter one). Sorry about that part sweetie, but you have to admit, it was an awesome birthday other than that. Why you ask? Because I gave him Ute season tickets! Whoo hoo!!!! Happy Birthday, Sweetie!!!

2nd Grade Field Trip - Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point

If you have never seen the museum at Thanksgiving Point, you really should make a plan to go there. It is pretty cool. What is even better is riding a bus down with a bunch of energetic 2nd graders! I loved it though. Imagine the chipmunks singing the same set of five songs on a 45 minute bus ride. Then, when we arrived, the bus started vibrating to the ear splitting chant of DINOSAURS....DINOSAURS......DINOSAURS! Got to love their energy! I had a great group that REALLY worked it for my camera! Here is group Morley with Kolten looking up, Topher saluting, Kaden doing the hurrah, and Asia doing the sexy!!!

This is the digging room. You get to see real people working on dinosaur bones. This is the spine of a dinosaur.Here is the big leg bone of a dinosaur. Kolten is a little camera shy, I couldn't get him to get in any of the pics!

Okay, this is a picture of a Supersaurus. It is SO big, it takes FOUR pictures to get the WHOLE thing!

Pretty cool, huh! Here is a picture of a "smaller" one. Makes you see how insignifigant you are!

T-Rex!!!They had a water table filled with sand. It helped show erosion, how soil changes over time, and changes because of wind. As you can imagine, it was quite messy. Glad they are the ones that have to clean it up!

I thought this water dinosaur was pretty cool. Imagine seeing that coming up on you while you're waterskiing!

These are the blocks you can play with that demonstrate reflected (or refracted, can't quite remember) light from the sun. The kids could make any sort of pattern they chose. This is Topher's.

At Christopher's school, 2nd grade does what they call "Celebrity of the Week". One student gets to have the spotlight for the entire week.

Day One: Bring in a poster telling about yourself.

Day Two: Bring in your favorite book for the teacher to read to the class. Topher brought "Walter the Farting Dog". Figures.

Day Three: Teacher reads a letter that Terry and I wrote telling why we think Topher is special.

Day Four: Topher's classmates draw a picture and write down five things that they like about him.

Day Five: These pictures are put into a card and presented to Topher on the last day of the week. Topher also brought Cosmic Brownies to share with his class. It was a good week!

What a full Easter we had this year! It all began with a little visitor from somewhere in the neighborhood. The reincarnation of my little Ebony came padding up our driveway. Since our dogs get out ALL OF THE TIME, we thought we would pay it forward and take care of this little one until we could find out who she belonged to. Tim really fell hard for her and he took these pics of himself and Topher.

She had a rabies tag, so we called the vet on it and found out her name is Olive. Kind of appropriate, don't you think? She belongs to our new neighbors across the street who weren't home, so she colored eggs that night with the rest of the "family".

We found an egg coloring kit that makes it so you can tip the bowl, the color goes into the top container, but the egg comes out in your hand, so no spillage. It was pretty cool.

He was okay with it. Here is Topher and Terry kickin' it after a long morning of eating candy and eggs.Later, Boston and Allee came over. Alex is on tour, so I am glad they still came!

Check out that loot! Boston calls me Mimi and Terry Papa. I think it is hilarious! He pretends he's all macho about it, but he picked out EVERY SINGLE TOY for Boston's basket. Boston SO has Terry wrapped around his finger. It is really cute!

2nd Camping Trip of the Year 2011 - Little Sahara

Okay, Dunes trip, take two. As most of you know, our Dunes trip was cut short a couple of weeks ago by fabulous Utah weather. I'm a native. Get used to it. Anyway, we decided to see if we could try the three day weekend one more time. Mother Nature was kind. Maybe a little too kind. Here are Brady and Bryce digging the infamous holes.
Many thanks to Liz (on the left) who was my photographer this weekend. Did I mention I left my kids home this weekend? My human kids AND my dog kids. I didn't do a DAMN thing all weekend, including not touching my camera. Good thing Liz was on it! She is here in this cute pose with her besty Ashley.

Liz and Ashley FREAKIN' loved riding the machines. It was funny to watch. I am glad they had a good time. We've created monsters!!! Here is Liz going for a ride with Terry. Yes, we gave her last rites!!!

As always, it is hard to be a dog. Baer got out of the sun, but it was funny that he had his head right under Lisa's chair. We tried to get her to fart, but she wouldn't do it.

Ok, what kind of a trip would it be if we didn't include the "grab Jay's boob" shot. Can't ever get away from that one. I am beginning to know how Dolly Parton feels. They are my trademark.

My goodness, you are 17! Where has the time gone? I can't believe it was only yesterday you were as tiny as Raylor that you are holding. You are one of my more sensitive kids, and I don't mean that in a bad way. You are in tune with people's feelings and are able to respond to that.
You are so quiet, but your presence is always felt. You always make sure that even the littlest guy feels welcome.

You have more inner strength than you realize. I know you have had a tough couple of years, but I think you are coming out on the bright side of the tunnel.

You keep heading in the right direction and one day you will shed all of that shyness and then no one will be able to keep up with you!

17 years ago I had a baby for my birthday, and I thank God everyday that you are healthy and (I hope) happy!

Now for the wrap up of the marathon blog Christmas posts. We come to THE day, and oh what a day! Kids got spoiled, as usual!

I mean ALL of the kids....

Alex and Brendon spent Christmas at their dad's house this year.

Here is all of the stocking loot!!!!!!!!!!!

The toys were Terry's DREAM! Anything he can put together.......and he is in HEAVEN!!!

Dusty is so funny, whenever she gets a new bone, she has to put her "stank" on it. She is rolling around on it in her dog bed. What a goof!!!

Of course Santa brought CASH!

The first place we hit was Grandpa Steven's and Peama's for brunch. She always makes such a good meal we have to roll on out of there. WE got spoiled at their house. All kinds of goodies, but best of all.....Peama's homemade caramels...yum!!!! Next up we went to Grandpa Jay and Sue's house. These next images are pretty funny. I had the camera on burst to catch Tiger because he is so fast. I caught him jumping up on me and this is what it looked like......Yeah this is his face RIGHT IN THE LENS!

Then he backed off a bit. He is too funny!

I think dad liked what we got him! We got spoiled here too.

After Dad's we went home to rest a bit, then off to mom's for the evening's finale. Here are some super cute little booties for MiniCoop.

Boston and Allee came with Alex! I was so excited!!!

I felt bad though. Last year, everyone had presents for Allee and Boston, and then things happened that they didn't make it. Now this year they made it, and no one had presents for them. Sorry!!!!

Tim got Sonic! I think that was his favorite present of the day!

Grandpa and Grandma gave us a very special gift ($$$) which was WAY TOO MUCH!!!! It was greatly appreciated and put to VERY good use!!!!!

This year Jason and Courtney brought Sue with them. I was really glad she could join us!!!

Hanh and Brian came later, but I didn't get their picture. We had a great Christmas; so lucky, blessed and loved. Merry Christmas 2010 everyone!!!!
